BNB Chain and Binance are different subjects
Separate the exchange's legal record from BSC's validator and application risks.

BNB Smart Chain uses a validator-based consensus design with staking and elected validator participation. Its EVM environment makes many Ethereum-style applications and wallet interactions familiar. Familiar interfaces do not imply identical governance, infrastructure or security assumptions.
Three layers to evaluate
An account at Binance is a custodial exchange relationship. A transaction on BSC is a network transaction. A token or DeFi contract on BSC has its own authorities and economic design. The exchange, the network and the application should be examined separately, even where brands or historical relationships overlap.
Check validator participation and governance using current network documentation. For a token, check the contract, upgrade controls, liquidity ownership and holder structure. For a centralised account, examine account security, withdrawal access and the contracting legal entity.
The Binance and CZ case entry covers the documented US guilty pleas. It does not label every BSC application as fraudulent. The centralisation guide explains how several kinds of control can coexist.
