What’s the big news in crypto today?

Everyone is screaming today about the OG whale who woke up after 13 years and moved 2 BTC to Coinbase. Cool story… but let’s clear something up: most people don’t even know what a Casascius Bitcoin actually is.

These aren’t normal coins.
They’re physical Bitcoin vaults, legendary collectibles from 2011.

Each Casascius coin can hold 1,000 BTC ($89 MILLION sealed inside a metal coin).
Yes, real Bitcoin. Yes, in your hand.

How it works?
Under that shiny hologram sits a private key. If the hologram is untouched, the BTC inside has never been touched either. Once you peel it? The magic is gone forever.

In 2013, U.S. regulators shut the whole thing down. Production stopped overnight, turning Casascius coins into ultra-rare artifacts of crypto history.

Today, some sell for insane premiums because you’re not just buying BTC. You’re buying a piece of Bitcoin’s origin story.

So before you tweet “whale woke up,” remember: This is one of the rarest flexes in the entire crypto ecosystem.
