Is it provocative, wrong, or accurate to say that the word “community” is abused in crypto and that real communities are rare?
I think what many call “community” is usually just a temporary alignment of greed and financial wishful thinking.
Is this wrong?
What you actually really need are like minded people, not a community that exists in name only and only as long as hype lasts.
In this space, nothing survives by default. Especially not projects without real substance. Hype is temporary. Value is the only thing that compounds over time.
A project or token lives and dies with the people who carry it. Not with followers, not with shillers, and not with noise, but with those who build, defend, and push it forward when attention is gone.
Just like in real life. This space is no different.
Yet people often believe in miracles.
Memecoins and utility are not fundamentally different in this regard. The difference is that most utility and infrastructure are worth fighting for because something real has been created. A product.
Many memecoins lack this, but that does not automatically mean they have no good team or no chance to survive and succeed!
But real products justify long term conviction more often. Funny narratives usually do not.

Staying combative is not a choice, it is a requirement. In most cases, teams are the only and most important constant force keeping a project alive. When markets turn or a bigger account shills the next shiny thing, the crowd disappears.
What many call “community” exists only as long as money is made. The moment risk appears or people realise there is nothing left to extract, loyalty vanishes. Unless there is a real product that is actually being used.
Real builders remain when speculation leaves.
That is the dividing line between noise and substance.
Like minded people last longer than hype driven “communities.”
