Even if I’m going to lose a few followers again because they want to push me into a political box,
I want to make one thing clear for those who are relatively new to crypto (0–2 years).
This space was not built on fear of the “other,” and not everyone here celebrates xenophobia or the targeting of minorities or people perceived as weak.
What you’re seeing today is not the inevitable culture of crypto.
I stayed silent for a long time because the change was gradual and I normalized it while it was happening.
That silence is something I’m not proud of. Things don’t collapse all at once.
They erode. Language first, then tone, then values. By the time you consciously notice it, the baseline has already moved.
Crypto used to be rooted in open access, censorship resistance, and the idea that systems should empower individuals regardless of origin, status, or identity.
The degradation of discourse over the past years should have been an unmistakable signal that something deeper was changing beneath the surface.
I saw it, but I didn’t fully grasp what it implied.
So this is simply a reminder: the current atmosphere is not the original spirit of this space, and it does not represent all of us.
I’d be interested to hear what you think about it.
