Scandalous leak from #Dubai

On 2 March 2026, the #UAE Federal Public Prosecution issued two official decrees ordering the restriction of specific X accounts inside the United Arab Emirates.
The decrees were issued by the Attorney General’s Office and signed by Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, Attorney General of the UAE.

Two decrees were issued:
• Decree No. 197 of 2026
• Decree No. 198 of 2026
The decrees instruct UAE authorities and telecom providers to:
• Block the listed X accounts or suspend access to them within the UAE
• Coordinate with specialized government agencies to enforce the restriction
• Assign technical committees within the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) to implement the decision
• Submit an immediate technical report on enforcement
Important:
The action does not block the X platform itself. Only specific accounts are restricted inside the UAE.

Beginning 28 February 2026, the UAE Public Prosecution issued warnings stating that sharing rumors, false information, or unverified reports on social media could lead to criminal liability, including penalties even for reposting such content.
Authorities emphasized that only information from:
• official government entities
• state accredited media
• verified official accounts
should be shared publicly.
The restrictions are implemented through:
• UAE telecom providers
• Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA)
Access to the listed accounts is blocked only within the UAE.
