I wish more people actually cared about the things I research, write about and put together here, because a lot of work goes into it.
I feel a genuine need to bring useful, high-quality information to this space, including the uncomfortable parts and the other side of the argument that people often do not want to hear.
A lot of people seem to interpret that as constant negativity or criticism.
I think part of the problem is that people have become so accustomed to being fed the same narratives 95% of the time that simply digging deeper, questioning something or presenting a different perspective already feels hostile to them.
I’ve now lost followers in significant numbers for 3 or 4 days straight, and I genuinely cannot explain why.
Maybe it’s because I called out ZachXBT for making xenophobic remarks.
Maybe it’s because I showed yesterday just how close Solana came to having serious problems with finalization. Maybe it’s something else entirely.
But the purpose behind what I do has always been pretty simple:
I want to contribute to a more mature, informed and accountable crypto space.
That sometimes means talking about things people would rather ignore, especially when those things interfere with whatever narrative they are financially or emotionally invested in.
I’ve almost accepted the absurdity that people here have no problem throwing 4, 5 or even 6 figures into scams, gambling platforms and speculative garbage, while almost nobody financially supports the people spending their time on education, investigations and accountability.
And the uncomfortable reality is that truly independent work like this is only possible if you refuse paid posts, promotional deals and the other financial arrangements that inevitably create conflicts of interest.
Meanwhile, many people will happily continue supporting the KOL who floods their timeline with casino promotions and shitcoin calls while making money from the very audience being exposed to that risk.
Yet somehow supporting the person pushing back against that culture, questioning it and trying to make the space a little less predatory becomes a much harder ask.
What I still struggle to understand is why even support that costs absolutely nothing, a like, a repost, sharing useful information with someone else, has such a hard time competing with content that requires almost no effort, research or substance.
Or maybe I’m completely wrong. Maybe I’ve spent so much time inside my own bubble that I’ve lost perspective on what people here actually want to read.
I have to consider that possibility too.
