Everyone forgets that those who became rich here, or have simply been around long enough to understand this market, took risks when everyone else had already declared it dead and buried.
Buying tops has never been the path to wealth.
Buying lows is what everyone claims to be here for.
Yet every day, I see people in the comments writing off the entire space with the same certainty people had years ago.
I am usually the first to criticise this industry, especially the grotesque mess it has become.
But most people are here for money. Almost everything else is secondary to them. If that were not true, crypto culture would not have collapsed this far into absolute idiocy.
The evidence is already overwhelming.
Almost everything being built, funded and pushed hardest today revolves around gambling.
The largest products are casinos, launchpads, the loudest accounts are casino and memecoin marketers, and the prevailing business model is retail extraction dressed up as community or wins.
Nothing exposes the values of this industry more clearly.
Still, I believe digital money, whether coins or tokens, is only at the beginning of its history.
Some will choose centralised systems. Others will hold on to self custody, permissionless access and the principles this technology was supposed to defend.
Either way, I believe far more capital will enter this space.
There has always been another way to get rich here, of course: become a ruthless scammer, LARPer or wallet drainer.
Crypto made plenty of those parasites wealthy too.
Worse, the same culture that dragged this industry into the gutter now rewards them with status and amplifies them through official accounts and supposedly respectable voices.
A perfect example is the people who scream about permissionless systems and decentralisation, then publicly promote an autocrat, shill gambling platforms and suppress anyone demanding more substance from this industry.
