LAPTOP before launch: the limits of contract attribution

I traced a potential contract for Hunter Biden’s $LAPTOP on Base.

One address holds 800 million tokens. The deployment dates back to April.

First, the attribution:
I cannot independently confirm that this is Hunter Biden’s officially authorised token.

His announcement names $LAPTOP and September 9, but does not include a contract address. The address below appears on @Laptoptoken and https://t.co/ayiSvdDATq.

Everything that follows concerns this specific contract.

That same submitting address appears in the September 1 distribution transaction. This identifies the transaction sender, not necessarily the Safe signers. The 50-token transfer does not confirm a listing or a sale.

If this CA is officially confirmed, the next questions are concrete: which addresses hold each announced allocation, who controls them, and what enforces the promised lockups?

I think this is a bad idea.

Coins tied to politicians and celebrities have brought us nothing but trouble so far, and it’s disappointing to see the same thing continue here too. To each their own.

Putting the pieces together, this looks like the CA, but please don’t mistake that for confirmation. The connections could be coincidental, or this could be an elaborate scam orchestrated by insiders to make everything look convincing. Be doubly cautious here.

You don’t need to look for it. It isn’t tradable right now, otherwise I wouldn’t have posted it like this. That is actually one of the reasons I think this could be the contract. But I would not recommend anyone touch something like this at all.
