Withdrawals, internal records, liquidations and the obligations behind an account balance.
A centralised exchange balance is a claim recorded by the operator. Its public wallets can reveal some assets and transfers, but customer liabilities, internal exceptions, matching behaviour and support decisions may sit elsewhere. That is why an investigation needs more than a reserve screenshot or a chart. The FTX posts distinguish the assets customers could withdraw in November 2022 from recoveries made later in bankruptcy.
The Binance 10/10 collection follows the questions MASTR raised about system performance, timestamps, liquidations and the records needed to test an exchange’s account of an incident. The full article concerns a specific support-record dispute. Other posts examine competing explanations and caution against attributing every market sell-off to one venue. Their order matters: an early account is not automatically the final account.
BitMart, Robinhood, Crypto.com and the exchange-closure chronology broaden the comparison. Read business history, custody terms, licensing, operational incidents and withdrawal procedures as separate subjects. A licence belongs to a particular legal entity and scope of activity; it is not a blanket guarantee of solvency or a substitute for checking who holds the assets.
