A cleanup transaction can recover account funding, but its destination is still part of the signed request.

What closing does

Closing a token account transfers its remaining lamports to a specified destination and removes the account. An ordinary token account generally needs a zero token balance before closing. Wrapped SOL accounts have special handling and can be closed to recover the underlying SOL.

The destination matters

A tool may present the operation as reclaiming account rent. That description does not identify who receives the recovered lamports. Review the destination and the owner or close authority authorising the instruction. The recipient should match the user's intended recovery address.

Do not batch blindly

A bulk cleanup transaction may contain several close instructions or additional transfers. Inspect every instruction and account rather than approving the whole request because one row looks correct. Preserve the transaction's decoded instructions if a tool redirects the recovered funds. That establishes the destination the user signed, without assuming that every account-cleanup tool is malicious.
