The real scandal here is not that World Liberty Financial $WLFI has been proven to knowingly work with sanctioned scam operators.
(although I am not sure whether it is actually proven)
I think the real scandal is that a Trump family crypto firm, pushing a politically connected dollar stablecoin, got close enough to this world for the question to exist at all.
@worldlibertyfi announced USD1 on AB Chain.
AB had promoted a blockchain resort project in Timor Leste, and that resort involved people who were later sanctioned by the United States for alleged links to the Prince Group.
U.S. authorities described the Prince Group as a transnational criminal organization tied to forced labor scam compounds, human trafficking, modern slavery, money laundering and industrial scale cyber fraud.
The DOJ case involved around 127,271 BTC, roughly $15 billion, and was described as the largest forfeiture action in DOJ history.
People were allegedly trafficked, trapped, controlled and forced to run crypto investment scams against victims around the world. That is the background btw.
Look at World Liberty Financial in that context. A Trump family crypto venture, a dollar stablecoin, foreign expansion, offshore networks, political branding, vague partnerships, and every time journalists connect the dots, the answer sounds the same.
World Liberty Financial keeps appearing exactly where a politically connected stablecoin should not appear. Around foreign money, Binance, opaque entities, frozen token allegations, insider economics, weak governance, and now an ecosystem connected to people sanctioned in one of the biggest scam ring crackdowns in history.
At some point, this stops looking like coincidence.
The Trump family sells crypto as freedom.
But every new layer looks less like freedom and more like extraction infrastructure wrapped in an American flag.
