Let’s not forget what @dexscreener’s business model actually rewards.

Its own documentation states that paid Boosts directly increase a token’s Trending Score for 12 to 24 hours.

Updating a token’s logo, text and social links through Enhanced Token Info currently starts at $299.

Token ads start at $299, while Trending Bar placements start at $2,000.

DeFiLlama attributes $4.37 million in revenue to DEX Screener over the past 30 days and $137.44 million cumulatively.

DEX Screener does not publish a revenue breakdown, so it cannot be proven that Boosts are its largest source of income.

The incentive structure is still obvious to me: projects can pay to manufacture visibility and appear more relevant than they are.

These boosts regularly push inexperienced users toward disposable memecoins, insider launches and outright scams, leaving newcomers to absorb the losses once the paid attention disappears.

A market-data platform should help users assess risk. It should not run a highly profitable attention auction where the projects most desperate for exit liquidity can simply pay to reach the least experienced users.

But this is crypto in 2026
