Arbitrum's documentation distinguishes rollup data posted to the parent chain from AnyTrust's use of an external data-availability committee. The committee model reduces costs by adding a trust assumption. It should not be described as the same arrangement merely because both use Arbitrum technology.

Ask about the deployed chain

Identify the chain, settlement layer, data-availability method, sequencer and upgrade controls. An application-specific chain built with familiar software may choose different operators and settings. A bridge also has a particular withdrawal path and asset mapping.

The practical question is whether users can obtain the data and exercise the withdrawal path if an operator becomes unavailable. Emergency powers, delays and supporting infrastructure affect that answer.

Compare the actual deployment against its documentation. Do not import a reputation score from another chain in the same software family. Read layer 2 and bridges for the wider comparison.
