Optimistic rollups use a process in which claims about execution can be challenged. Optimism's fault-proof documentation describes the components involved in proving and disputing state. Whether an individual deployment has the expected protections depends on its configuration and controls.
What a user needs to identify
The sequencer affects transaction ordering and immediate availability. The proof system and settlement contracts affect the validity of withdrawals. Upgrade and emergency authorities can change the behaviour of the deployed system. Treat those as separate questions.
A fast bridge may pay you before a canonical withdrawal completes by introducing a liquidity provider or another intermediary. The shorter wait comes with a different exposure. Compare the assets, route and fees rather than assuming every withdrawal bearing the same network name has the same guarantee.
For an application on an OP Stack chain, review that chain's own documentation. Shared software does not make every deployment operationally identical.
