Private deals, paid visibility, manufactured credibility and the audience on the other side.

A promotional post can look identical whether its author bought on the open market, received a discounted allocation, earns referral revenue or is paid a fixed fee. The commercial relationship changes the incentives. MASTR’s influencer articles and launch investigations examine those differences rather than treating follower count as a research credential.

The archive also looks at the distribution machinery: recommendation systems, reply networks, purchased visibility, follower farming and success stories designed for replication. A highly visible trade is not a complete performance record. Copy traders may face a later entry, worse liquidity and costs that the promoted result does not show. Compare the public claim with the underlying deal and preserve the original promotion before it changes.

Named investigations below reproduce MASTR’s dated publications, including allegations and the sources supplied with them. Mentioning an account in a network is not itself proof that the account shared ownership, knowledge or intent. Use the original context and the linked research methods when assessing a relationship.

Personal brands and the monetisation of audience trust

I’m so tired of watching grown adults in Web3 build an audience around trust, credibility and supposed expertise, then turn around and monetise that same audience by feeding them into the next casino, the next shitcoin, the next leverage…

Crypto’s attention economy and the cost to useful work

Crypto is starving while directing an absurd share of its attention toward disposable tokens, manufactured narratives and products designed to monetize impulse before anyone has time to ask what they actually bought.

When low-effort posts bury original work

Even some people I genuinely like have started posting complete bullshit because apparently that is what the algorithm rewards now.

Can useful products survive without a hype machine?

More accurately, I started building it before my vacation, but the further I get, the more I wonder whether serious products have any chance here unless they come wrapped in hype, a shitcoin, or somebody already famous enough to…

I am genuinely stunned by how much some casinos and Web3 companies are willing to pay KOLs whose credibility is roughly equal to a pile of shit.

What personal accountability would change in Web3

What would Web3 look like if founders and KOLs were personally accountable for the promises they make and the millions that disappear behind them?

The thing is, posts like this often take me hours to research, verify and explain properly, while 99% of the timeline is effortless slop that is easier to consume and usually performs better.

Growing an audience without paid shills

Honestly, I am still surprised I managed to grow to 31K followers while refusing to play most of these games.

I understand that attention has value, that reach takes work, and that not everyone can spend years online without getting anything back.

Capital for useful software instead of disposable tokens

Imagine this money going into real projects and startups in Web3 that are actually building something useful, shipping something, solving something, or doing anything good for this space.
