Crypto is a massive shithole rn.
But, I am extremely positive in the long term, even if my tweets appear otherwise. here is why they read the way they do:
I am often told that my tone is too negative.
That judgement assumes that negativity is a stylistic choice rather than a reflection of observed reality.
In periods where there is little that is structurally sound, ethically coherent, or empirically defensible, the absence of optimism is not pessimism.
It is, my view, accuracy. Positive narratives require positive inputs.
When those inputs are missing, forced optimism becomes distortion rather than balance.
There is a deeper layer to this perception problem. Trust has eroded to a point where the act of framing anything as positive is no longer neutral.
In an environment saturated with incentives, hidden agendas, and asymmetric information, positivity is automatically interpreted as promotion.
Promotion is interpreted as intent. Intent is interpreted as compromise. Once that chain is established, neutrality collapses.
This is pattern recognition under conditions of repeated failure.
The modern information environment rewards confidence over correctness and enthusiasm over truth.
In such a system, silence is punished, doubt is framed as hostility, and restraint is misread as bitterness. The expectation is constant affirmation. Anything less is labeled negativity.
This framing is convenient because it delegitimizes critical analysis without engaging with its substance. It replaces epistemology with tone policing.
I do not distrust selectively. I distrust systemically.
That distinction matters. Selective distrust can be resolved through evidence. Systemic distrust emerges when incentives are misaligned across the entire structure.
When visibility correlates with manipulation, when success correlates with deception, and when correction mechanisms fail repeatedly, skepticism becomes the only rational posture.
Trust then stops being a default and becomes an exception that must be earned and continuously revalidated.
Presenting something as positive under these conditions carries an ethical cost.
It externalizes risk onto others. It creates implied endorsement even when disclaimers are present. The audience does not parse intent with academic precision.
They read signals. A positive framing is a signal. In compromised ecosystems, signals have consequences. Refusing to emit them is not cynicism. It is responsibility.
There is also a misconception that criticism is inherently destructive. In reality, unchecked optimism is far more corrosive. It anesthetizes vigilance. It lowers defensive thresholds. It creates social pressure to suspend judgment.
Entire collapses are built on atmospheres where negativity was discouraged in the name of morale. History does not reward those environments. It exploits them.
What is labeled negativity is often simply refusal to participate in collective self deception. It is the insistence that claims be proportional to evidence and narratives be constrained by reality.
This stance is uncomfortable because it offers no emotional relief. It does not soothe. It does not promise upside. It does not sell hope. It preserves integrity.
I do not owe optimism to anyone. I owe coherence. I owe consistency between what is observed and what is communicated.
When conditions change, the tone will change organically. Until then, restraint is not hostility and skepticism is not malice.
It is the byproduct of learning in a system that repeatedly punishes trust and rewards illusion.
