I am convinced that we have to wait until things calm down geopolitically before market caps start rising again.
We all know what this is about.
But I think that once everything starts moving upwards again, the same grip and behavior will continue, unless X changes by then, and unless Dexscreener changes, and unless certain main characters here and chain main accounts start adapting to the more intelligent side of crypto.
But unfortunately, volume and user numbers are far too important in this ongoing competition between chains, so I do not see certain actors suddenly starting to clean up the crypto slop.
I also believe that what I am doing here, and what a few other solid accounts are doing, is just background noise and will remain so in this loud and sometimes unbearable space.
Just imagine for a moment if a chain account, or the space itself, or a founder, or whoever holds influence, would start pushing people who actually want to build and move the chain forward instead of promoting another shitcoin.
It would be so simple, and yet so complex.
The other side of it is the image that crypto has. People either see it as a scam, or they praise it to the skies as some almost divine solution. And that is where the problem begins. The grey zones have disappeared. Everything has to be extreme. It is always either a scam, or people defend it like wild animals.
And that destroys serious conversation.
Because crypto is neither only salvation nor only fraud. It is a space full of contradictions, and instead of dealing with those contradictions honestly, most people pick a side and stay there.
One side thinks everything is criminal. The other side thinks every criticism is an attack on freedom, innovation, or the future itself.
That is why it is so hard to move this space into a more intelligent direction.
+Nuance does not perform well.
-Measured voices do not perform well.
People who point out structural problems do not perform as well as people who scream, shill, farm engagement, or package nonsense as culture.
The outside world and newbies keeps seeing the worst people, the loudest scams, the dumbest narratives, and the most embarrassing behavior.
So the reputation remains damaged.
And the worst part is that a lot of this would not even be that hard to improve if people with reach, power, and visibility wanted to.
A few serious signals from the top could shift a lot. A few different incentives could change what gets rewarded. A few major accounts choosing builders, researchers, and useful products over garbage could already move the culture a bit.
But that would require maturity
....and unity.
It would require patience.
It would require people to care about long term credibility more than short term numbers.
And that is exactly where this space keeps failing.
So yes, I think better market conditions will bring back higher market caps.
But I do not think they will automatically bring back better crypto.
That only happens if the people shaping attention, culture, and incentives finally start acting like they understand what is at stake.
The image is only there to draw attention.
