Now Hunter Biden has apparently even unfollowed the token account.
I genuinely have no idea whether he understands what actually happened behind the scenes, but this whole episode is another perfect example of how absurdly naive (or extractive) celebrities can be when they enter crypto.
You put your name and reputation behind a token, surround yourself with people who supposedly know what they are doing, and somehow nobody anticipates the most basic launch risks, allocation problems, liquidity dynamics, insider behaviour or the absolute fucking circus that follows when things go wrong.
Maybe he was badly advised.
Maybe he was surrounded by people who had no business running a token launch.
Maybe some of them understood exactly what they were doing. I don't know yet, and I'm not going to invent conclusions without evidence.
But watching another celebrity-backed token implode into accusations, emergency explanations, suspended accounts, Medium statements and now apparent unfollows is almost parody at this point.
