What disappoints me most about this space rn is how different the reality is from the opportunities everyone keeps talking about...or how it changed. That applies to building useful things too, not talking about trading.
There are plenty of good projects that deserve far more support. They just don’t have big money behind them or a huge account telling everyone to pay attention. It feels like hype decides everything, regardless of what actually gets built.
I developed MASTRpass and made it available for free in the Solana dApp Store, which still badly needs quality apps. Support is voluntary, through donations. Google Play users will probably have to pay for the same app. After a few weeks, the total support received is 0.1 SOL.
With our original $MASTR / MASTR app on iOS and Google Play, we provided nearly 8,000 free token checks for our users. (With about 1000 downloads and no marketing, no shills from other accounts, same for everything I/ we do)
That meant an expert analysing the different layers of a token, writing a human explanation and being available for follow-up questions. There is real work behind every one of those checks.
Since we introduced a small fee, with the option to get a free check by spending a little time in the app, demand has dropped by 90%. Apparently, even that small contribution changes how much people want the service.
